Telstra Health CloudMed has appointed U K Ananthapadmanabhan as Global Product Director, Hospital Solutions. In this new role, Annanth will lead the client services, implementation and product management teams as CloudMed continues to rapidly expand its global market footprint.
CloudMed Managing Director, Jim Flynt said: “Ensuring our customer implementation projects run smoothly and that they continue to be delivered on time, on budget and with high levels of customer satisfaction and referenceability are key priorities.
“Similarly, evolving and standardising our implementation methodology while ensuring our HIS technology and solutions remain at the cutting edge are critical in retaining our position as an industry market leader.”
A graduate electrical engineer from Anna University, Chennai, with post graduate qualifications in Business Management and Hospital Administration, Annanth has a long career in hospital management. His strong healthcare domain knowledge, deep insights into various health ICT applications and his passionate interest in Cloud-hosted delivery models has been his forte for the past several years.
As a senior executive within Rainbow Hospitals, one of India’s top rated paediatric hospital groups, he was the sponsor of ‘Project Digital’ and led the implementation of CloudMed’s Cloud-hosted Arcus HIS solution across eight Rainbow hospitals in three states – a project that despite its complexity was successfully completed within nine months.
With about 800 to 1,000 outpatients a day, Rainbow was the first hospital group in India to host its entire HIS solution suite on a single Cloud platform and is among a few leading-edge hospitals in the country that have introduced advanced EMR capabilities including CPOE.
Ananth started his career in 1978 as a graduate engineering trainee in the automobile manufacturing sector. His move into healthcare occurred in 1983, when he joined the first corporate hospital in India, Apollo Hospital (Chennai) where he served for over 32 years in various senior management positions. Ananth is also a passionate teacher and writer who believes that health ICT has a tremendous role to play in improving the quality, productivity, safety and efficiency associated with healthcare delivery around the world. He has held positions on various healthcare advisory committees and is an active healthcare member within the Indian IT and trade delegations to China, Vietnam and United Kingdom.
